A Family Company

At Open Electrical Solar, we’re a family owned business founded in 2013 by Mark and Tina Lyall. What started as a small, values-driven electrical company has grown into one of South East Queensland’s trusted solar and battery specialists  without ever losing that family-first approach.

Today, the business is led by Mark’s brother, Andrew Lyall, an experienced solar and battery electrician, and his cousin Jack Lindsay (Director). Together, we combine hands-on electrical expertise with forward thinking strategy and a clear mission: deliver high-quality, compliant solar solutions that genuinely improve people’s homes and businesses.

We believe in doing things properly, no subcontractors, no shortcuts, no compromises on quality. Every system we install is designed with care, installed by qualified electricians, and treated as if it were going on our own home.

Integrity, workmanship and long-term relationships are at the core of everything we do. Our goal isn’t just to install solar it’s to build systems that stand the test of time and create a positive impact for our customers and the environment

At Open Electrical, our customers range from residential homeowners, city councils, large multinational corporations and SME’s. While our customers all have different needs and budgets, they often have the same objective: to reduce energy consumption and make the world a more eco-friendly place.

Jack Lindsay - Managing Director


Jack Lindsay, our dynamic Managing Director, first graced Open Electrical with his presence in 2020 before exploring the tech world. He rejoined us in 2024, bringing a renewed energy and unparalleled organisational skills to the table. Jack’s expertise and proactive approach have made him an invaluable asset, streamlining operations and leading our team to new heights.

Mark Lyall - Technical Director


Mark Lyall is the founder of Open Electrical Solar, establishing the business alongside his wife Tina in 2013 with a strong focus on quality workmanship, integrity and long term customer relationships. What began as a small family owned electrical company has grown into one of South East Queensland’s trusted solar and battery specialists.


With over a decade of industry experience, Mark is passionate about delivering reliable, high quality energy solutions tailored to each customer’s needs. His hands on approach and commitment to doing things properly helped shape the values the business still operates by today with no shortcuts, no compromises and a strong focus on family, trust and long term results.


Outside of work, Mark is a proud dad to three boys and values the family first approach that continues to drive the culture at Open Electrical Solar.

Andrew Lyall - Technical Director


Andrew has been working as an electrician since 2004 and became an accredited solar installer and designer in 2010. As an electrical contractor, he has built broad experience across residential and commercial electrical work.

He is passionate about finding the right solution for every customer and takes pride in supporting his team. Andrew oversees installation crews, manages scheduling, and provides both technical and hands-on support to ensure high-quality outcomes on every project.

Nick Burns - Renewable Energy Specialist


Known for his straightforward communication and solution focused approach, Nick prides himself on making complex energy systems easy to understand. His goal is simple: to help customers make informed decisions that genuinely benefit their lifestyle, finances, and long term energy independence. Nick believes the process should feel clear, comfortable, and even enjoyable, and if he can make a customer laugh along the way, that is a bonus. When he is not talking solar, you will likely find him in the gym, on the rugby field, or producing drum and bass music.

Jake Sturrock - Renewable Energy Specialist


Jake is passionate about helping our customers understand solar solutions in a way that’s clear, honest, and tailored to their needs. He focuses on educating and guiding customers to make informed decisions, rather than pushing a one-size-fits-all solution.


Having lived in Australia for over 2 years, Jake enjoys embracing the Aussie lifestyle whether it’s hitting the golf course, cheering on footy, or living by the beach.

Molly joined the team at Open Electrical in 2025. Working across customer service, admin, and sales support, she helps ensure every enquiry is handled smoothly and efficiently.

From assisting customers to supporting our sales team and keeping internal operations on track, Molly plays an important role in the business. With her friendly approach and can do attitude, she helps create the positive, reliable experience our customers know and trust.

Georgia Daymond - Sales & Admin


Georgia joined the team at Open Electrical in 2025. With a background in Production Management and Marketing, 

Georgia plays an integral part in supporting our sales team, assisting with the preparation of quotes, managing follow-ups, and handling a wide range of responsibilities. Her proactive approach and attention to detail help keep processes running smoothly, ensuring our team and customers receive timely, efficient support.

Lachie joined the team in early 2026 as an apprentice electrician and has quickly built a reputation for being reliable, hardworking, and always eager to learn. He brings a great attitude to every job, with a strong focus on growing his skills and contributing to the team. Outside of work, Lachie is preparing for his most rewarding challenge yet—becoming a first-time dad.

Ribatul  - 2nd Year Electrical Apprentice



Ribsl is a second-year electrical apprentice who enjoys learning the trade and doing things the right way the first time. He’s passionate about developing his skills on site and working alongside experienced electricians to deliver safe and reliable work.


When he’s not working with cables, circuits, and tools, you’ll probably find him at the gym or working on his motorcycle. Ribatul enjoys problem solving and making sure every job is completed properly  because nobody likes a shocking result.

Clayton joined Open Electrical in 2026, currently training to be a solar and battery technician. He's been a qualified electrician for almost 4 years. Clayton is loving the transition into solar and battery and learning more about different parts of the industry.

Lana Babic - Service Coordinator

Dea joined Open Electrical in 2025 as our Sunny AI System Specialist, playing a key role in both the strategy and technical foundation of the Sunny AI platform.

Working closely with the system’s architecture, Dea oversees maintenance, troubleshoots issues, optimises processes, and develops integrations and workflows that keep operations running seamlessly. Combining strategic insight with hands-on backend expertise, she ensures Sunny AI remains reliable, efficient, and continually evolving to support the wider team.

Sue Carey - Book Keeper & Accounts


Sue brings extensive experience across bookkeeping, legal administration, and financial management, with a strong background as both an Accounts Manager and Financial Controller. She has also owned and operated her own businesses, giving her a practical, real-world approach to finance and operations. Outside of work, Sue enjoys time outdoors and has a love for horses, her golden retrievers, and her cat.

Theo Santos Royal has been a key player in the solar industry since 2019 and joined Open Electrical in 2021. Hayden

Since joining Open Electrical in 2023, Hunter Sproule has been a valuable asset, contributing his four years of solar industry experience. Beyond his work with solar and battery installations, Hunter stays active with gym workouts, running, and camping, bringing enthusiasm and dedication to everything he does.
